INTRODUCTION

Cloud computing is a model for providing ubiquitous, convenient on-demand network access to a shared pool of configurable computing resources (such as networks, servers, storage applications, and services) that can be quickly deployed and released with minimal management effort or service provider interaction.

Although this widely accepted explanation of what distinguishes a cloud computing solution is extremely helpful, it is neither tangible nor simple to comprehend. What distinguishes cloud computing from simple visualisation, which is frequently confused for cloud computing.

Cloud computing consists of fine basic characteristics, three deployment models, and four service models.

The essential characteristics include:

a) On-demand self service: Users can deploy cloud computing resources without requiring human intervention, typically via a web-based self-service interface (management console).

b) Broad network access: Cloud computing resources are available over the network, enabling a variety of client platforms such as mobile devices and workstations.

d) Resource pooling: Service numerous clients from the same physical resources, by safely isolating the resources on a logical level.

d) Rapid elasticity: Resources are positioned and released on demand, either manually or automatically, in response to triggers or parameters. This ensures that your application has the necessary capacity at all times.

f) Measured service: Resource usage is measured, reported, and billed openly depending on utilisation.

As a result, cloud computing encompasses far more than virtualization. It’s essentially about using technology as a service. Users require little to no understanding of how a specific service is implemented on what hardware, how many CPUs, and so on.

All that a user needs is a good understanding of what the service does and what it does not, as well as how to use the self-service portal.

Everyone has had a bad experience with outsourcing. Some software vendors who outsourced a new development project were unable to fulfil the deadline due to their lack of experience, so they switched platforms.

But the question is, who chose the platform; did the customer review the job on a daily basis? No. Did it provide automated status reporting? (It did not).

Outsourcing is a critical component of every modern IT organisation. The difficulty is that we still don’t seem to be doing it well. Consequently, many company technology professionals fire their vendors in a short amount of time.

As a result, firms that use IT outsourcing emphasise the significance of effective outsourcing management. One is the expansion of cloud computing and software as a service projects.

IT outsourcing is advancing up the stack as contractors take on more crucial functions. Approximately 6 to 10 IT firms outsource some important tasks in-house, such as management, engineering, and management, but want to outsource all others. As businesses rely more on outsiders, a lack of governance, management, and monitoring can have disastrous repercussions.

Cloud computing blurs the barriers between conventional outsourcing and internal operations, putting IT management and control standards to the test.

As a result, this study aims to evaluate cloud computing as a more effective method of IT outsourcing.
