DEVELOPING A CHURCH MANAGEMENT SYSTEM

Chapter one

INTRODUCTION

1.1 Chapter Introduction

This chapter explains why this investigation was initiated. It will provide a detailed explanation of the study’s history, as well as its principal goal and objectives.

This chapter contains a brief explanation of the anticipated tasks and results that must be achieved before the final implementation can take place.

1.2 Background of the Study

The research is based on the day-to-day operations of the God’s Fire Ministry International Church in Ghana. As a major church that is always growing, there is a need for a more efficient and less tedious approach to manage information such as attendance, ministry planning, accounts, and so on.

For this study, we will create and build software capable of data collecting, storage, and retrieval. This concentration is due to time restrictions and the difficulties of carrying out all of the activities mentioned above.

The goal is to create a prototype that demonstrates the relationship between data and use cases in order to establish a foundation on which larger implementations can potentially rest.

1.3 Statement of the Problem

Church administration requires the highest level of objectivity and responsibility. Putting this task in the hands of algorithms can help us achieve the desired objectives.

The study merely examines the data collection methods and proposes prospective remedies in the form of prototypes and models for other Ghanaian churches. This study will lead to the deployment of a web-based service, as well as recommendations for future implementations and upgrades.

1.4 Aims and Objectives of the Study

The study’s goal is to create a database system that can effectively store data while also serving as a church administration system for God’s Fire Ministry International in Ghana.

Objectives include:

A thorough examination of the literature regarding the operations of a typical information management system.

Identifying the primary areas of operation in the church that require automation.

Design of systems capable of providing solutions to the issues described in (ii) above.

Implementing the designs in (iii) above and making recommendations for the future.

1.5 Significance of the Study

The study’s significance is such that it may be added to a long list of research articles that can be used to instill the culture of automated systems in our daily information management operations, particularly those of God’s Fire Ministries International.

1.6 SCOPE OF THE STUDY

This study will focus on the activities of one of the church’s parishes, specifically the Accra branch. This limited reach is owing to time restrictions and the laborious process of building such software for a full church organisation.
1.7 Organisation of the Project

The project is structured so that Chapter One provides a brief introduction in the form of a Background of the Study, which provides a basic overview of the notion of computerised church management.

In Chapter Two, we take a broad look at several implementations of computerised church management. The third chapter looks at the system architecture, design, and analysis.

Chapter Four describes the project’s implementation utilising the relevant programming languages and development models. It also displays the results of the tests that were conducted. Chapter Five concludes the project work with a summary, findings, and recommendations for future projects.
