IMPACT OF MANAGERIAL TECHNIQUES ON THE GROWTH AND DEVELOPMENT OF AN ORGANIZATION

INTRODUCTION

1.1 Background of the Study

To thrive in today’s dynamic and competitive business world, an organisation must be able to achieve its goals. Each level of organisational activity has its own set of goals, which will eventually lead to a single global or overarching organisational goal.

To coordinate all of these operations, the manager serves as a “link” between each level of organisational activity and external groups or bodies to achieve the desired goals.

Good managers at all levels are responsible for the organization’s prosperity and growth; without a good manager, such an organisation would die a natural death.

Many notable management writers have recognised the importance of a manager in an organisation, which is why Joseph Schum Peter refers to “managers” as the engine of growth, and Peter Drucker considers management to be “the life-giving organ of the enterprise body.”

An organization’s growth requires many strategies of evolution through the phases of issues: who will lead the organisation out of bewilderment and solve the management problems that the organisation faces?

The manager who can pull and put the organisation together must understand basic management techniques. This is what an organisation relies on, as well as the managerial abilities who will carry out the four managerial functions, without which the organization’s aim cannot be achieved.

Persons designated as managers make decisions that steer and direct organisations. These entail the process of getting the organization’s activities done through and with people by establishing and maintaining an atmosphere that encourages people to work together cooperatively.

Managers can use the four organisational aspects, which are material, financial, human, and information, to successfully and efficiently achieve the organization’s overall goals.

Managers are also viewed as change agents, organisers of commercial ventures, or promoters of some type of activity. He is continually looking for new ideas, chances, and strategies to adapt to the current situation in order to improve performance.

He initiates change by introducing new goods, plants, and improvements to existing items, all in an effort to increase performance. Decisional positions play an important part in how a management performs their everyday tasks.

Every action a manager performs necessitates decision making. To help the organisation achieve its goals, the manager must ensure that his decisional tasks are carried out in such a way that they improve the workforce’s performance and aid in the organization’s goal-achieving.

1.2 Statement of the Problem

The purpose of this study is to look at how managerial approaches affect an organization’s growth and development. As a result, managers must obtain training programmes and seminars that will help them achieve the organization’s purpose.

A comprehensive study of the following questions will assist the researcher in determining the impact of managerial approaches on the growth and development of an organisation.
