CONTEXT OF THE STUDY
Since ancient times, we have experimented with the materials around us to satisfy our basic needs of food, clothing, and shelter. What began as a means to meet these needs has now evolved into the science of chemistry. Chemistry is one of the three principal branches of pure science, along with biology and physics. Chemistry is the study of the composition, properties, and applications of matter; it investigates the principles governing the transformations that matter undergoes.
In addition to other scientific fields, chemistry has evolved through a series of discoveries over time. How do scientists conduct their research? Scientists are extremely perceptive and inquisitive; they use their senses to observe what is occurring around them; from a given set of observations, they observe a pattern that leads them to a reasonable explanation or hypothesis; they then conduct appropriate experiments to test their hypothesis; and finally, they meticulously record their observations and results.
Our universe is composed of matter We study chemistry to gain an understanding of matter. Chemists are scientists who perform experiments, learn to observe, record, and exert intelligent influence while studying chemistry. It was in this era that medical advances such as x-rays for cancer treatment and numerous other discoveries and formulations were made. The atomic theory of matter was proposed by John Dalton.
Michael Faraday proposed applying magnetism to electricity. In genetics, Gregor Mendel discovered the law of heredity in plants and animals. In recognition of the importance of studying chemistry, the government ministry of education and other organizations should provide adequate attention and resources. This sentiment is more reflective of classroom experiences.
STATEMENT OF PROBLEM
1 Lack of qualified and experienced chemistry teachers will result in poor student performance because when students are not properly instructed, comprehension becomes an issue.
2 Lack of chemistry equipment will result in poor performance in the subject, as these items facilitate better comprehension of the taught concepts.
The lack of chemistry seminars, symposia, and workshops will prevent the teacher's methodology from being modernized.
4 The number of students in a classroom has an effect on the teacher's effectiveness, as the lack of equipment hinders the teaching-learning encounter, and the absence of libraries and laboratories hinders the students' education.
PURPOSE OF THE STUDY
The purpose of this study is to:
1. Evaluate chemistry education and learning issues
2. Suggest some potential solutions to the problem
3. Identify a favourable factor
4. Provide students or students with solutions that will assist in laying a solid foundation for further study of this subject.
Students with adequate chemistry equipment perform better in science than those without adequate chemistry equipment.
The performance of students in a given learning and teaching environment is positively impacted by chemistry instructors with experience and credentials.
IMPORTANCE OF THE STUDY
The importance of this study, which focuses on the obstacles to the learning and teaching of chemistry in the state of Ekiti, cannot be overstated.
The study sheds light on the problems associated with the learning and teaching of chemistry in Ekiti state; it assists the government and the ministry of education in Ekiti state in finding a long-term solution to the problems identified; and it raises the awareness of teachers-in-training so they can regulate the curriculum of the teachers education.
Through this study, teachers can rectify any impediment to their own teaching effectiveness.
SCOPE OF THE RESEARCH
This research was restricted to the citizens of Ekiti state, Nigeria.

Certified science instructors The school's qualified chemistry teachers hold the Nigeria Certificate of Education (NCE) and have at least five years of teaching experience.
