Women's participation in the mainstream of the development process is a recent phenomenon; twenty years ago, only men remained and were forced to carry out the majority of development activities without recognition.

In a broader context, development could be defined as a dynamic process involving the interaction between a country's people and their environment.
In this study, however, community development could be viewed as the movement designed to promote a better standard of living for the entire community through the initiative of the community.
The United Nations concluded that the element of community development is the process by which the effects of the people themselves are combined with those of the governing authorities in order to improve the social, economic, and cultural condition of the community.
The development of community development in the local government area established a number of women-reaching programs.
