ABSTRACT
This study investigated the effect of social distancing on the Nigerian economy using coronavirus illness as a case study. The goals of this study were to assess the prevalence of coronavirus disease in Nigeria and the impact of social distance in Nigeria. The infectious illness transmission mechanism theory served as a framework.
The data analysis revealed that the level of coronavirus sickness in Nigeria is typical when compared to other nations, and that social distancing has an impact on the Nigerian economy.
Following the findings, it was suggested that measures be developed to slow the transmission of the virus and that a vaccine be developed in order to avoid further reliance on social activities. Individuals should also practise proper hygiene. The study suggests that social alienation has a negative impact on Nigeria’s economy.
