DESIGN AND IMPLEMENTATION OF ALARM BASED PHARMACY INVENTORY APPLICATION

INTRODUCTION
Business management has evolved and advanced together with advances in computer technology and applications. Business owners are now looking for more efficient, cost-effective ways to manage their company in order to fulfil the high demand and service expectations of their consumers. One of the most recent technical advancements made by business owners is the automated inventory control system.

Inventory systems make it simple to manage and locate commodities and items in a store or supermarket. An inventory control system can be used to automate the sales order fulfilment process.

Such a system contains a list of orders to be filled, prompts employees to select essential supplies, and gives packaging and shipping information.

Finally, with the continued use of computer application development and upgrades, the inventory control system has been designed to include an alarm-based system that allows the recorder or store keeper to quickly determine which of his or her products are being purchased frequently and, as a result, which items are running out of stock.

This advancement has alleviated the burden of physically taking inventory of commodities and keeping track of which items in the store are now in short supply and require reordering.

1.2 Statement of Problem

Stock control and management are important aspects of a sales organisation. The financial well-being of a business revolves around the recording of buying and selling activities;

if an entrepreneur fails to provide accurate analysis for his/her stock, there is a high risk of business loss because such an entrepreneur cannot create a balance between his income, expenses, and profit or loss, as the case may be.

The introduction of computer programmes that allow such modifications has greatly facilitated information processing. This project will aim to provide an Alarm Based Pharmacy Inventory Application control system that will aid in the management of stock in any pharmacy establishment.

1.3 GOALS OF THE STUDY

The goal of this project is to design and develop an Alarm Based Pharmacy Inventory Application. This alarm-based inventory system will be able to provide a prompt when stock of a specific product is low, allowing the manager to reorder the product before it runs out of stock completely.

1.4 Significance of the Study

Our Alarm Based Pharmacy Inventory Application, which is proposed in this project work, can be used in a pharmacy, for example. This system will also assist the organisation in providing a stock report so that a sales and ordering balance can be easily obtained at the end of a certain sales period.

1.5 Scope and Limitations of the Study

The Alarm Based Pharmacy Inventory Application that will be built will deliver a rapid prompt to the user when stock has reached a certain limit, indicating that the available supply of such item cannot fulfil consumer demand. This project work will explain the design process of establishing an inventory system, as well as how database

1.6 Methodology of the Study

Javascript and PHP were utilised to construct our Alarm Based Pharmacy Inventory Application, with Adobe Fireworks CS 5 for the interface design and HTML.

Our backend design was done in SQL, and the database we chose was MySQL.

1.7 Organising the rest of the study

Chapter two contains the literature review, chapter three is the system analysis and design, chapter four provides an analysis of the system implementation and discussion, and finally, chapter five contains the conclusion and recommendations.
