Introduction

1.1 Background of the study

Management is a vital aspect of the functioning of organizational and social systems, particularly in the modern era, characterized by the increasing complexity of technological and informational products and radical transformations. In this environment, we deem it essential to implement management structures that can adapt to all organizational changes.

Communication is often referred to as the network that binds all the members and activities of an organization together. “communication” is a highly ambiguous term that derives from the Latin word “communiqué,” which means “to share” or “to make common.” For the purpose of this study, I shall define communication as the preference of information is, sharing of ideals and instructions of feeling between individuals or groups of individuals and within or outside an organization. Nonetheless, the transfer of this information, principles, and their activities can coordinate with the achievement of organizational objectives and individual fulfillment. To achieve this, however, management must determine the form and substance of all forms of communication. To do this properly, it is necessary to first determine the precise aim of the communication and to have a complete awareness of the knowledge, comprehension, interest, and attitudes of the audience. Consequently, management of kinds has a great responsibility to ensure that adequate communication occurs within their organization; communication has become an essential function of people and organizations, or the organism relocates its part and its environment and relates its part to its internal processes. In other words, communication is the lifeblood of any organization with any significance.

Noting that communication between friends is at best difficult and at times impossible, it is reasonable to assume that where hierarchical relationships exist, as in federal polytechnic Ekowe, and where interpersonal feelings are sometimes more negative, even more attention and effort is required to achieve the level of understanding required for efficient operations. Despite the intricacy of the process, managers and supervisors must adhere to certain communication fundamentals.

1.2 STATEMENT OF PROBLEM

Not only is information passed from superior to subordinate, but also vice versa. It also emanates from subordinate to supervisor; in federal polytechnic, it is not only between organizations, but information could also be passed horizontally, such as from one department to another within federal polytechnic. Ineffective communication between departments in the workplace has become a constant source of friction. If one were to investigate the origins of some of the recurring conflicts within departments or between individuals, one would discover that the majority of them emerge because “we were not informed.” Uninvolved in critical decisions impacting their divisions, a large number of competent managers have been demoted. Ineffective communication at the federal polytechnic may result in conflict to the disadvantage of efficient and effective communication and the organization’s overall success (federal polytechnic).

The study will specifically assist federal polytechnic, its staff, and the organization’s clients in general. It will achieve its production, sales, and profit objectives without any bottlenecks. Materials will always be available to staff for continuous, uninterrupted manufacturing. Massive financial gains will increase their salaries and bonuses. The consumers will receive goods and services of sufficient quantity and caliber on time. It is also hoped that this contribution would be useful to polytechnic students, professionals, researchers, and instructors.

SCOPE OF THE RESEARCH

Communication may be as important as corporations’ pursuit of large profits. The purpose of this study was to determine what role it could play in boosting productivity at the federal polytechnic, Ekowa, Bayelsa state, given its significance to organizations.

As a result of my belief, the applications and techniques of communication in polytechnic management will undoubtedly mirror the evolution of organizations and their types. Therefore, the researcher’s choice of federal polytechnic is influenced by the institution’s accessibility to important documents and data, which will facilitate the success of the investigation.

LIMITATION OF THE STUDY

Every research endeavor has its limitations. However, this particular instance is not an exception. Certain circumstances hinder the writing of this research paper, including:

Insufficient research resources

The study materials on this topic were extremely limited. The heavily utilized library is stocked with obsolete volumes that have no relevance to contemporary study. In addition, new and upgraded materials are prohibitively expensive, rendering them unaffordable.
Uncooperativeness of topics
The level of cooperation of the Hamdala Hotel’s staff was modest when it came to obtaining information from sources of responders, especially when it came to material that was classified or extremely confidential to the organization. 3. low response rate to questionnaire During the data collection procedure, it was discovered that not all questionnaires were returned. Some of them were also improperly filled out, meaning that a substantial amount of pertinent information was withheld, which may have improved the quality of this study.
Lack of access to subjects
The inaccessibility of the inventory management manager, who was not always available to supply the requested data, was yet another obstacle discovered during the investigation. However, despite all of the aforementioned limitations, the researcher was able to present an unmatched piece of research.

DEFINITION OF TERMS

This refers to the transfer of information from one person (sender) to another (receiver), with the information being comprehended by the recipient.

This sort of communication involves the internal components of an organization, such as its personnel, structure, finances, and technology.

Productivity describes many measurements of the production’s effectiveness. Often, a measure of productivity is expressed as the ratio of an aggregate output to a single input or an aggregate input used in a manufacturing process, i.e. output per unit of input, often during a specified time period.
