ABSTRACT

We here come up with a system to develop a website which has capability to restrict and block the transaction performing by attacker from genuine user’s credit card details. The system here is developed for the transactions higher than the customer’s current transaction limit. We tried to detect fraudulent transaction before transaction succeed. During registration we take required information which is efficient to detect fraudulent user activity. Here we present a Behavior and Location Analysis (BLA). The details of items purchased in Individual transactions are usually not known to any Fraud Detection System (FDS) running at the bank that issues credit cards to the cardholders. Hence, We implemented BLA for addressing this problem. An advantage to use BLA approach to reduce number of false positive transactions identified as malicious by an FDS although they are genuine. An FDS runs at a credit card issuing bank. Each incoming transaction is submitted to the FDS for verification. FDS receives the card details and transaction value to verify, whether the transaction is genuine or not. The types of goods that are bought in that transaction are not known to the FDS. Bank declines the transaction if FDS confirms the transaction to be fraud. User spending patterns and geographical location is used to verify the identity. If any unusual pattern is detected, the system requires re-verification. Based upon previous data of that user the system recognizes unusual patterns in the payment procedure. System will block the user after 3 invalid attempts.

CHAPTER ONE 1.0 INTRODUCTION

 

Online transaction fraud detection via backlogging on an e-commerce website is the process of ensuring that online transactions are carried out properly and without fraud interference during E-commerce operations by using a critical application blockage called backlogging.

 

It is also seen as a kind of electronic commerce detector, since it enables consumers to purchase products or services directly from the vendor over the internet using a web browser without encountering any fraud.

The fact that internet usage has increased tremendously in the last few years leads us to think that online commerce will follow suit in the near future. To justify internet commerce and online shopping, an online transaction fraud detection system that utilizes backlogging on an e-commerce website enables customers to submit online or place orders for items or services from a store that serves both walk-in and online customers, while ensuring that no fraud attack occurs on either end.

 

The e-commerce website displays the order cut-off time and corresponding delivery window for the products chosen by the consumer online. Online Shopping is a web-based tool designed specifically for online merchants. The primary goal of this program is to simplify the process of looking for, viewing, and selecting a product. It has a powerful search engine that enables users to look for goods that meet their individual requirements.

 

The search engine offers a simple and convenient method for users to search for items. Users may search interactively for products and the search engine will refine the results depending on the user’s inputs. Users can then examine the whole specification for each product.

 

1.1 DEFINITION OF THE PROBLEM

The majority of businesses have encountered various drawbacks in their operations as a result of the present shopping system (manual shopping), including the following: a lack of accuracy in customer data; a slow processing time for client records; and a lack of sufficient accountability.

Due of the restricted operating hours, it does not provide a consumer with the wonderful convenience of shopping at any time of day.

There is a need to transition from manual to automated shopping, where consumers may explore over the Internet and the system administrator approves requests. Customers can purchase items from any location, and a database will keep detailed product information.
