This article presents an integrative research model that links environmental, organizational, and technological capability constructs to assess the impact of cloud computing usage on business performance. In order to close a gap in the literature, the study focuses on post-adoption stages, such as actual usage and value creation, by surveying 403 manufacturing firms in India.
Although the data is analyzed using exploratory and confirmatory factor analyses, structural equation modeling is used to further test the proposed model.
The findings indicate that business, human and technological capital, change management, organizational culture, and regulatory and supplier support are all important predictors of cloud computing adoption, with firm size moderating actual usage and performance.
The results’ unique insights can help organizations improve their cloud computing adoption and, as a result, their business performance.
