<p>It has been suggested that traditional student identification and presence approaches, such as roll call or paper-based attendance, are out of date, causing academics and supervisors to spend too much time tracking student progress.</p>
<p>Manual monitoring is also difficult when dealing with large classes of children. As a result, present <a href="https://www.premiumresearchers.com/development-of-a-distributed-big-data-fusion-architecture-for-machine-to-machine-communication/" data-wpel-link="internal">monitoring systems</a> contain vulnerabilities that make it impossible to prevent proxy attendance, identity card theft, impersonation, and monitoring errors, all of which have a direct influence on educational quality [2].</p>

<p>Fingerprint, face, iris, and retinal pattern recognition are all forms of biometrics that can be used to verify an individual&#8217;s identity. These physical data approaches are gaining traction as a more convenient personal identification method than traditional methods such as passwords or ID cards since they use measurement data, which is unique to the individual and remains so throughout one&#8217;s lifetime [5].</p>
<p>Examination, as a tool, facilitates testing, evaluation, and accreditation. However, most schools require students to satisfy a certain percentage of class attendance requirements before taking a test [6].</p>
<p>However, due to the difficulty of manually taking attendance and keeping records, many institutions in developing countries have failed to achieve this criteria.</p>

Breast cancer is now one of the most common tumours affecting humans, particularly women, and early detection would go a long way towards minimising the damage caused by this cancer to its victims.</p>
<p>Breast cancer causes are numerous, including family history, obesity, hormones, radiation therapy, and even reproductive variables. Every year, one million women are newly diagnosed with breast cancer; according to a World Health Organisation report, half of them die since the cancer is frequently detected late (Aaltonen et al., 1998).</p>
<p>There are two types of breast cancer: malignant and benign. Breast cancer can be classified as malignant or benign by scientifically examining the characteristics of breast tumours, lumps, or other abnormalities detected in the breast.</p>
<p>Cancer in the benign stage has a lower risk and is not life-threatening, but cancer in the malignant stage is life-threatening. Malignant tumours spread to nearby cells and can spread to other areas, however benign masses cannot spread to other tissues and so only expand within the benign mass (Aaltonen et al., 1998; Huang et al., 2017).</p>
<p>To effectively diagnose breast cancer as benign or malignant, researchers used a type of <a href="https://www.premiumresearchers.com/effect-of-artificial-intelligence-on-consumer-awareness/" data-wpel-link="internal">artificial intelligence</a> (AI) known as machine learning. Machine learning techniques are used to create models that accept attributes that qualify a breast cancer case and produce an output label for the type of cancer, label 1 for benign and label 2 for malignant.</p>
<p>Various machine learning models, including Neutral Network, Support Vector Machine (SVM), K Nearest Neighbour (KNN), Decision Tree, Naïve Bayes (NB), and logistic regression (LR), have been employed in the past to classify breast cancer. Accurate classification of breast cancer would result in early discovery, diagnosis, therapy, and, where possible, complete eradication of the cancer.</p>
<p>1.1.1 Data Mining</p>
<p>This might be viewed as &#8220;mining knowledge in data&#8221; or as the extraction of information from a vast or voluminous dataset. It is the most significant part of machine learning (Kaymak, Helwan, &amp; Uzun, 2017), but pattern recognition is the primary emphasis of data mining (Jothi, Rashid, &amp; Hussain, 2015).</p>
<p>Data mining techniques can be used on medical data sets to trace and predict significant patterns in order to save lives, improve treatment accuracy, lower treatment costs, and reduce human error (Manjusha, Sankaranarayanan, &amp; Seena, 2015).</p>

<p>What is an intelligent tutoring system (ITS)?</p>
<p>ITS are programmes that have a broad knowledge of a subject and intend to transmit this knowledge to students through an interactive individualised process, attempting to emulate the way a tutor or human teacher would guide the student in his learning process (Millán, Agosta, &amp; Pérez, 1999).</p>
<p>ITS systems are emerging teaching approaches that will assist students learn and grasp a specific subject topic.</p>
<p>Knowledge of programming is an essential component of any Computer Science curriculum. Because of its widespread use in industry, it is being used in other disciplines including as business, finance, and accounting.</p>
<p>However, programming can be difficult for some first-year students. This is demonstrated by the fact that many students abandon or fail programming courses (Miliszewska &amp; Tan, 2007). As a result, it is critical to identify ways to help students learn programming.</p>
<p>A substantial majority of pupils are interested in learning programming. They differ in several ways, including age, gender, educational level, and aptitude for solving logical problems.</p>
<p>I once instructed <a href="https://www.premiumresearchers.com/factors-affecting-computer-science-students-performance-in-junior-secondary-school/" data-wpel-link="internal">Computer Science</a> students at the polytechnic level and discovered that it is difficult to design a single course that meets the demands of all pupils. One solution to this difficulty is to offer a student with a one-on-one human tutor. However, the cost of doing so may be an issue.</p>
<p>That is why we need Intelligent Tutoring Systems (ITS).</p>

<p>1.2 Statement of the Problem<br />
In a traditional classroom setting, students are constantly confronted with one or more learning obstacles or hurdles. Problems such as overcrowding in courses can cause pupils to be unable to express themselves in class.</p>
<p>As a result, their ability to comprehend in class is limited. Teachers, on the other hand, do not always know each student&#8217;s emotional state, learning style, growth rate, and so on in order to select the best teaching technique, or pedagogical strategy, to utilise for each student.</p>
<p>It is critical to recognise that not all pupils have the same learning styles or abilities. Some students learn quickly, while others learn slowly. Some people learn best through drawings or diagrams, while others prefer video instruction. Furthermore, pupils&#8217; knowledge levels on a given matter vary. The knowledge level could be beginner, moderate, or advanced.</p>
<p>Having said that, it is certainly difficult for a teacher teaching in an overcrowded classroom to fully grasp each student&#8217;s learning needs and provide them with the optimal teaching technique all at the same time.</p>

<p>This project seeks to create an Intelligent Tutoring System (ITS) for learning Object Oriented Programming (OOP), specifically Java 3. The goal is to improve student learning and provide adaptive learning for each student.</p>
<p>1.3.2 Objectives.</p>
<p>The primary goals of this research project are:</p>
<p>i. Provide a detailed and practical explanation of an ITS system&#8217;s primary components or architecture, as well as how it operates.<br />
ii. Propose and develop an Intelligent Tutoring System (ITS) for learning an Object Oriented <a href="https://www.premiumresearchers.com/factors-affecting-computer-science-students-performance-in-junior-secondary-school/" data-wpel-link="internal">Programming</a> Language (OOP), case study, Java programming language</p>
<p>with the goal of providing an efficient solution or a better approach to providing personalised and adaptive learning to students without the need for human intervention.</p>
<p>1.4 SIGNIFICANCE<br />
Over the last couple decades, research in Intelligent Tutoring Systems has gained momentum. However, ITSs are not well-known among instructors. One of the primary reasons for this is because, while numerous ITSs have been constructed, only a few are used in real-world teaching situations.</p>
<p>This suggests that there is more space for advancement in the realm of ITS. This study seeks to improve existing ITSs, at least to some extent. Existing ITSs educate in a variety of subjects, including primary school reading, programming, and electronic circuit design.<br />
Any ITS must be able to guide the student through the nitty-gritty details of the material being taught.</p>

This study focuses on an ITS system that can teach users object-oriented programming. A user is classified into three (3) major tiers based on his or her present knowledge of Java. There are three (3) separate levels:</p>
<p>Beginner: At this level, the user will be taught and guided through the fundamentals of the Java programming language. Furthermore, the ITS system specifies the curriculum that will be used to train the user at this level.</p>
<p>There is also a platform for assessing users, as well as another for tracking user/student performance. Tracking progress is also personalised / customisable.</p>
<p>Intermediate: At this level, the user will be taught and worked through topics that are slightly more advanced than the fundamentals of the Java programming language.</p>
<p>Furthermore, the ITS system specifies the curriculum that will be used to train the user at this level. There is also a platform for assessing users, as well as another for tracking user/student performance. Tracking progress is also personalised / customisable.</p>
<p>Advanced: At this level, the user will be taught and worked through topics that are more advanced than the Intermediate level of the Java programming language.</p>

The work required in the process of registering students and computing their examination results is significant. Worryingly, these activities are repeated each academic session, trapping the operators in a never-ending and exhausting cycle.</p>
<p>The computation of examination results and student registration are obviously object-centered activities, with the student serving as the dominating object in this case.</p>
<p>As a result, there is a need to develop a computerised process that can effectively and efficiently capture all of the critical data related with registration and examination result processing in tertiary institutions, as well as object interactions.</p>

<p>Recent improvements in personal computing and <a href="https://www.premiumresearchers.com/the-influence-of-smart-phones-and-social-networking-sites-on-the-academic-performance-of-senior-secondary-school-students/" data-wpel-link="internal">wireless local area network</a> (LAN) technologies have resulted in low-cost laptop and palmtop computers that can connect wirelessly. A portable computer equipped with a wireless LAN adaptor can communicate directly with other wireless computers.</p>
<p>A wireless mobile computer communicates with computers located far away via a nearby access station. Normally, an access station is a stationary computer with a wireless interface that connects to traditional network infrastructure via terrestrial links.</p>
<p>In particular, an access station that connects to the global TCP/IP Internet can connect a wireless mobile computer to other computers located all over the world.The wireless interface of an access station can offer wireless coverage for a small geographical area of around 50 metres in diameter.</p>
<p>Mobile computers in the neighbourhood can use radio signals to communicate with the access station. Because one access station can only give wireless coverage in a limited region, many access stations are required to provide coverage over a vast area.</p>
<p>Connecting numerous access stations to the internet causes routing issues when a mobile computer migrates from one access station to another.</p>

<p>It is important to note that packets carrying the routing update message compete with data packets for network bandwidth.The burden of propagating routing updates is particularly noticeable on a major university campus, where 50,000 mobile computers are concentrated in a compact geographic region.</p>
<p>More importantly, mobile device movements at a university are vast and synchronised, with a large percentage of the population migrating to new locations with each change of class.</p>
<p>Without careful planning, the university internet may encounter network congestion when most students attempt to interact from new locations, affecting both mobile and non-mobile computers on campus.</p>
<p>Congestion exacerbates the situation by delaying or losing routing updates, pushing data packets to take less-than-optimal pathways.</p>
<p>Students&#8217; mobile computers have diverse capacities, which complicates the design. Students are more likely to choose for mobile devices that run a choice of operating systems and CPUs. We want a design that can accommodate such diversity.</p>

<p>A frame is the fundamental unit of message transmission via a communication network.A frame provides information that enables network interface hardware to capture the data within it.</p>
<p>The Maximum Transmission Unit (MTU) is the highest quantity of data that can be transferred via a communication link in a single frame.</p>
<p>A host is an end-user computer that connects to the Internet using TCP/IP. A data gramme (or IP data gramme) is a packet that travels across a TCP/IP network. TCP connections are abstractions given by the TCP protocol software.</p>
<p>With a TCP connection between two programmes, one may safely provide data streams to the other. TCP ensures that each byte of data is delivered in sequence and without loss.</p>
<p>A local area network (LAN) is a network that employs technology intended to cover a small geographic region. Ethernet is an example of a local area network. A wireless LAN is a local area network that allows hosts to communicate wirelessly with one another.</p>
